HELPING THE ELDERLY EXERCISE THEIR LEGAL RIGHTS
As I was driving to work this morning I heard a news story on the rights of elderly persons in Virginia Nursing Homes. A Virginia attorney, Kathy Pryor, was explaining that you have a legal right to appeal a decision to be removed from a facility.
Truth is, I have only heard of a few people being removed – but I agree with her that in a bad economy, we may see more people being “kicked out” of Virginia Nursing Homes for non-payment.
Ms. Pryor has a great website with resources for Virginia families who want to know more about their rights in nursing homes.
