FILL IN THE BLANK EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS 150 150 Lauren Ellerman

I love marketing… I really do. You have to convince someone they need the product before you can sell it.

I came across a reputable lawyer search website that had the following statement as to why Employers should have non-compete agreements:

What is a Non-Compete Agreement?

This document forms a legal contract
between an employer and employee that prevents the employee from working for a
business competitor if their current position is terminated.

Why should I use a Non-Compete Agreement?
So an employee won’t provide confidential information about the innerworkings of your company to a competitor.

WRONG. Now that is just wrong. The law in Virginia already prohibits the use of confidential information outside of a business. Its called the Virginia Trade Secret Act. You do not need a writing to reflect what is already the law.

So there I go again, getting upset when people are spreading false information about employment contracts and Virginia law.
