Virginia employees are sometimes surprised to know, that even without a written employment contract, they are not allowed to use, take, or copy the confidential trade secret information of their employers.

No really. Its against the law to take their private information.

And when you leave your company, and go compete in the same industry, they are going to assume you are taking trade secret information with you to use for the benefit of another.

Not only will they assume the worst about you, Joe, the ex-employee, they will investigate looking for things you did wrong.

And then they will try to sue you and prevent you from sharing that trade secret information.

How do I know this? I’m not psychic… I just pay attention. Like to this blog, written to your business owners on how to ensure you little employees don’t take information you are not allowed to have.

Pay attention – and read what they are reading. Also, if you need specific questions answered, talk to an attorney in your state who can help clarify your rights.
