ADVICE COMPANIES GET REGARDING NON-COMPETES 150 150 Lauren Ellerman

I am not going to advise ANY company to have a non-compete.

I hate them.

No seriously – hate is not too strong of a word in this instance.
While I recognize that the existence of non-competes allows me to make a living, I am proud to be on the side that fights them and argues for employees’ rights to do business.

There are of course, some attorneys who make a living drafting these horrible things and advising corporate clients to put them in place.

You already know that non-compete agreements exist in almost every industry in Virginia, but lets see what advice the companies are getting.

Enjoy this free video from a Fla. attorney who recommends companies use non-compete agreements to prevent you, the greedy selfish employee, from taking their hard earned business. Ok, so he doesn’t actually say that, I tend to exaggerate.

Either way, it is important to know the information your employer will hear when he calls an attorney for advice on restrictive covenants.
