HEALTH CARE NON-COMPETES

HEALTH CARE NON-COMPETES 150 150 Lauren Ellerman

I spoke to a group of nurses on Friday – and the conversation came around to non-compete agreements.

They were shocked that their current employer would ask them to sign an agreement limiting their right to work elsewhere, or limiting their right to do consultant work on the side.

“They can’t do that?” one asked. Another said she would quit before she signed such an agreement.

THEY ARE COMING NURSES. I have received calls from people recently who need their agreements reviewed in the Health Care industry. Physicians, Nurse Practioners, Physician Assistants are already facing them – next step Nurses I fear.

It is a sad day when we ask our nurses to agree they won’t go serve other people in their chosen profession. A very sad day.
