I watched NBC Nightly News on the evening of March 16 and a story caught my attention. The report, seen here beginning at the 16:15 minute mark, was about the stresses placed on pharmacists. The story focuses on a pharmacist with 14 years of experience and how employers (CVS Pharmacy and Walgreens were mentioned as the largest retail pharmacy chains) place ever increasing pressure on the pharmacists to be “profitable.” In addition, to working 14 – 15 hours shifts and filling hundreds of prescriptions each day, many pharmacists are now also expected to provide COVID vaccinations.
What is the expected result? Mistakes and errors which can kill patients.
We have represented clients with serious negligence claims against pharmacists employed by local “mom and pop” pharmacies all the way up to the largest retail chains including Kroger Pharmacy, CVS, and Walgreens.
If you or a loved one has experienced medical negligence by a pharmacist, we would be honored to help.
