The Sad Truth About State Medical Boards

The Sad Truth About State Medical Boards 1200 800 Bo Frith

Worthwhile clip on how state medical boards work. Virginia is sadly no different.

All too commonly, our cases involve instances of egregious negligence that go (and previously went) unpunished by the Virginia Board of Medicine. The people who suffer are patients.

These patients are later malpracticed upon, suffering permanent injuries and in some cases death, at the hands of physicians who should not be practicing medicine.  In the rare instance where a state medical board takes action, the doctor simply leaves to practice in another state (either leaving Virginia to practice elsewhere or coming from another state to Virginia to practice). The causes of the problem are myriad and complex, but the victims are clear—patients.
