I work with capable and skilled attorneys who also happen to be great people. I know that, but it is especially nice when a reputable outside organization thoroughly vets them and says so, too.
The Virginia Law Foundation tagline is “promoting through philanthropy the rule of law, access to justice, and law-related education.” It honors a special group of attorneys, called Fellows, in recognition of their excellence in the practice of law and public service. To date, there are only 433 lawyers named as Fellows. (To put that into perspective, more than 80,000 attorneys have been licensed in Virginia.) My partner, Lauren Ellerman, has been named as a member of the 2016 Class of Fellows and will be inducted in January 2016.
She undoubtedly earned this recognition and, in the true spirit of her work, I know she earned it as a public servant who never expected any recognition at all.
Congratulations, Lauren!
