HEY LADY – YOU STOLE MY LINE 150 150 Lauren Ellerman

I mean really. Don’t you hate it when someone steals your stuff?

Like the time the employment defense attorney who runs this blog, http://legal.entrepreneur.com/2010/05/18/to-compete-or-not-to-compete-that-is-the-question/, stole my line from a blog I wrote many weeks ago: http://virginianoncompete.blogspot.com/2009/09/to-sign-or-not-to-sign-that-is-question.html

Or the time she quoted me as a reliable source on the subject of non-competes in the same article linking to an old post I wrote: http://virginianoncompete.blogspot.com/2010/04/hiring-employee-with-non-compete.html.

Ok, well maybe the shout out wasn’t a bad thing…Maybe I didn’t hate or mind that at all.

And, she does have a point, or rather, we both make a good point.

When it comes to employment contracts, employees all have a Hamlet like dilemma – to sign or not to sign. To compete, or not to compete.

And if you are a Virginia employee and need help answering these questions, I will be honored to help.

It is not in this case as it was in Hamlet’s, nobler to suffer – it is more noble to know the law.
