Well, for once I mean this. Thank God I don’t live in California. The LA Times published an article today, that reflects insurance companies are refusing to insure some professions. Professional athletes, firefighters, roofers, etc…

Are you kidding? Is there not a public policy in making sure our firefighters and law enforcement officers have great insurance. And if the companies can deny based on occupation (claiming they want to reduce premiums) – maybe they can deny them for other reasons.. such as, no insurance for attorneys that file malpractice cases…. no insurance for highway workers because there is risk. Well, I understand capitalism, but I also think someone should point out the public benefit to all professions having access to insurance. I wonder if Virginia has any way of regulating this? My gut tells me, the answer is no.
